When Safety On uses it

Safety On may use background location for:

• active Safety On protection and check-in features;
• My Circle live sharing when sharing is enabled;
• optional location history when the feature is enabled.

Why it matters

Safety On works best when location is allowed all the time. That allows live sharing and active protection features to keep working more reliably if the phone is locked or the app is in the background.

Safety On is user-controlled. Users choose when to start and stop Safety On trips, and when to turn My Circle sharing on or off where that control is available.

Your controls

You can review and change location permissions in Android settings for Safety On. If you reduce or remove location access, some live-sharing, trip, and alert features may stop working properly.

Location history

Location history is optional and plan-limited.

• Safety On Premium: 30 days

Advertising

Safety On does not use background location for advertising.
